After 15 years of running family-owned Thai Restaurants in Midcoast Maine, Mr Wat traded Thai Food and Sushi to create a new brand of cusine. In 2019, he created the Thai-Pizza restaurant with his family; "Thai-Food on the Dough." Spice Pizzeria was opened in Rockport, ME. Even though the pandemic halted businesses everywhere, Spice still kept running for a while with good reviews of the food. But nearly 2 years on Aug. 2021, their pizza oven gave out and they couldn't afford a new oven, so Spice was closed for a long while.
Without giving up, Mr. Wat finally manage to secure a new location to set up on Oct. 2023, the old Getty Gas Station in Rockland. And in spite of delays in contracts, with grit, sweat, and their own hands, Mr. Wat and his sons rebuilt the derelict building into a new kitchen with everything they saved from their old establishment. And on Sept 2024, Spice had reopened back in Rockland.
